In conjunction with our main gallery show, Again & Again, Elephant Gallery is excited to present the hallway show Iodine, a collection of old and new drawings by painter and illustrator Kevin Guthrie. Guthrie is a self taught artist who works in acrylic paint and colored pencil on cardboard beer boxes. Guthrie explores contemporary life through images of musicians, athletes, politicians and other figures from popular culture.
Guthrie started making art work at age 50 after being on the fringes of show business for 30 years. He has exhibited around Nashville at Julia Martin Gallery, OZArts and CE Gallery and in December of 2019 was featured in Art in America magazine. Guthrie has made art work for Pavement, Jenny Lewis, Be Your Own Pet and the Silver Jews. He will have a solo show in the main gallery at Elephant in January of 2027.
