Opening Reception 3/13 6-9pm
Elephant Gallery is excited to present Toxic Waste In Paradise by Nashville-native Benji Anderson.
For his second solo show at the gallery (after The Fitful Portal, 2022) Anderson has created a new collection of oil paintings depicting a vivid imaginary landscape that is both an escape from and portrait of our damaged modern world.
Toxic Waste in Paradise is also a representation of the artist’s own interior and exterior life: most clearly the struggle and balance between anxiety and play.
“There’s always a world going on in my head that is influenced by the world outside my head,” says Anderson.
Toxic Waste In Paradise comes out of this conversation between his interior and exterior self and the resulting work is an explosion of imagination, color, form and world-building from one of Nashville’s most brilliant creative minds.
